The FAST GasCheck is a professional gas leakage system developed for detecting leaks in drinking water networks using hydrogen tracer gas (Nitrogen with less than 5.5% Hydrogen). Unlike acoustic leak detection, gas detection is not affected by environmental noise or the sound characteristics of the leak itself. This makes GasCheck particularly effective in:
• Urban environments with heavy traffic
• Plastic and non-metallic water pipes
• Low-pressure systems
• Very small or difficult-to-detect leaks
Hydrogen is an extremely light and highly diffusive gas. Once injected into a water pipe, it escapes through the leak point and rises vertically to the surface. The GasCheck’s highly sensitive sensors rapidly detect even small concentrations of hydrogen above the leak location. Hydrogen tracer gas can be injected into water pipes either with or without water present.
The GasCheck system is designed for straightforward, reliable field use and includes the GasCheck control unit, bell probe with hose, charger and transport case. Optional accessories such as a drill hole probe, hydrogen tracer hose and hydrogen tracer regulator further expand its capabilities.
