Lead pipework in potable water networks is a major and growing hazard to consumers, with a wide range of potential health impacts attributed to them. Hundreds of thousands of properties across the UK still have lead pipework between boundary boxes and properties, and historically there has been no way to identify this pipework without excavation.
LeadEye enables easy and fast identification of lead pipework beyond the boundary box. Featuring a 10mm camera head and ultra-flexible 6mm push rod, LeadEye is inserted through the boundary box and is able to navigate tight bends to push into pipework for visual identification of lead pipe.
The system features a high quality camera, built in LED lighting, and an effective push distance of 20m, allowing operators to easily and effectively inspect pipework. All operators have to do is isolate the supply, insert the camera system and push.
For safe use in potable water environments the system features fully WRAS approved materials, and a built in sterilisation unit to prevent contaminants entering the network.
LeadEye is not designed for use in pressurised environments, but will withstand submersion in areas of pipework that are not fully purged of water (Up to a pressure of 200mbar).
