The HUNTER H₂, from Esders GmbH, is a highly sensitive tracer gas leak detection system for the general location and pinpointing of leaks in potable water pipe networks. Specifically designed for water industry professionals, the HUNTER features exceptional capability and detection ability, allowing for effective location of very small leaks.
Tracer gas leak detection systems benefit from use of commercially available forming gas (A mixture of 95% nitrogen and 5% hydrogen gas), which is chemically inert and save to dissolve in drinking water networks. The hydrogen is also able to propagate through impermeable surfaces such as concrete over time.
The HUNTER features two sensitivity levels, one for leak detection to allow operators to locate the general area of a leak, and one for localisation, allowing for precise location even in challenging environments. The system features a resolution of 0.1ppm with a response time of around 5 seconds, allowing for detection of very small amounts of forming gas, and allowing operators to move quickly and with confidence. The HUNTER features a flow rate of 40 l/h, ensuring fast and accurate detection.
The kit features a modular design, with multiple probe options available. These options include a standard bell probe for general leak detection operations, a carpet probe particularly suited to long surveys covering large distances, and a pinhole probe for exceptionally precise location of leaks in compacted ground conditions. The kit is also compatible with the Esders VSS 15 Vacuum Backpack, which boosts the sensitivity even further (By 5l/h).
