Another batch of Drainage Crawlers heading out to customers
This batch of drainage crawlers only arrived last week, and they’re already on the way out the door! At Synthotech, we pride ourselves on delivering the latest inspection technology to our customers quickly, and this latest order is a perfect example.
A long-standing customer contacted us earlier this week looking to expand their inspection capabilities. Their existing fleet primarily consists of push rod cameras, perfect for smaller diameter pipes, however, as their projects have grown in scale, they required a more advanced solution capable of surveying larger drainage infrastructure.
To meet this requirements, we’ve supplied 4 kits including 4 X5-HMA4 crawlers, and 2 larger X5-HT4 crawlers.
A Flexible Solution for Multiple Pipe Sizes
The X5-HMA is a compact but highly capable crawler designed for pipe diameters from 150mm to 300mm, with the ability to extend inspection capability up to 600mm when fitted with an extender arm. Despite its small size, the X5-HMA provides high-definition inspection capability using 2.1 or 4.1 megapixel cameras, delivering clear internal pipe imagery for accurate condition assessments.
Its four-wheel drive skid-steer traction system, integrated tilt and inclination sensors, and IP68 rating allow it to operate reliably even in challenging underground environments.
For this customer, the HMA crawler provides the perfect upgrade from push rod systems when inspecting smaller drainage and sewer pipes.
Medium Crawler Power for Larger Drainage Infrastructure
To complement the smaller crawler, we have also provided 2 X5-HT crawlers, a robust medium crawler system designed for larger drainage infrastructure.
The X5-HT is built to operate in pipes ranging from 300mm up to 1000mm in diameter when fitted with its extender arm, making it suitable for larger sewer and drainage networks. The system uses high-definition camera technology combined with an advanced pan-tilt-zoom camera capable of 10x optical zoom and 270° vision, allowing operators to carry out detailed inspections of pipe interiors.
Its scalable design allows users to adapt the system with different wheel sizes, cameras, and accessories depending on the inspection environment.
Integrated Inspection and Reporting
A major feature of both crawler systems is the seamless compatibility the iTouch inspection and reporting platform, allowing engineers to produce professional inspection reports directly from site. This offers a significant boost in efficiency and ease of use for operators, and ensures that reporting is straightforward and accurate.
This streamlined workflow makes it easier for contractors and utility teams to document pipe conditions, identify defects, and share results quickly with other teams and clients.
Supporting Customers as Their Technology Needs Grow
For contractors who have traditionally relied on push rod cameras, drainage crawlers represent a significant step forward in inspection capability. By combining the X5-HMA for smaller pipes with the X5-HT for larger diameters, this customer now has a versatile inspection solution capable of tackling a much wider range of drainage infrastructure.
At Synthotech, we work closely with our customers to ensure they have the right equipment for the job. Whether you are upgrading from push rod cameras or expanding your inspection fleet, our team can help you identify the most effective solutions for your needs.
