The FAST Aqua HMII is a mechanical listening device developed for pre-locating water leaks before more advanced acoustic or electronic methods are deployed. It allows technicians to quickly assess suspected leak areas by listening directly to structure-borne sound through valves, hydrants and exposed pipework.
Manufactured from steel and aluminium, the HMII is built for regular field use. Its construction includes an aluminium resonance chamber and a stainless steel membrane, which help transmit and amplify leak noise clearly through the rod.
A silicone rubber cover on the earpiece ensures comfortable use during extended listening periods. The listening rods are made from magnetisable stainless steel and are fitted with a tip for secure contact on metallic assets.
A detachable version is available, connecting via an M5 screw thread. This allows flexibility in transport and storage while maintaining a secure connection during operation.
Available in multiple diameters and lengths, the Aqua HMII can be selected to suit different working environments, including deep chambers and standard valve access points.
For water utility teams carrying out routine inspections, step testing or early-stage leak investigation, the FAST Aqua HMII offers a straightforward and cost-effective mechanical solution.
